Product activation is necessary for the first time with effect from Client Version 1.30 of the FEC Secure IPSec Client.
Two methods of activation are available for the user, an online and an offline variant. Updates to new major releases of the client are still subject to a charge.

An update enables exactly one leap to the next major release. A change from version 1.1x/1.3x to version 2.00 is regarded as a version leap.


A leap to a major release is indicated by a change of the first digit after the dot or the digit before the dot in the version number (example v1.30 -> v2.00 or v2.00 -> v2.10).

All customers who have bought a version 1.3x license with a serial number of 22014002 or higher as of 1st december 2006 or later can install version 2.00 for free.


All customers who have bought a license version 1.3x with a serial number of 22014002 or lower before 1st december 2006 and have already installed a client with it only obtain version 1.3x features if they install version 2.00 or higher (this does not apply if installing on Windows Vista; in this case, a full featured version 2.00 is mandatory). If you wish to use version 2.00, you must buy an update; if you wish to use the succeeding major version of version 2.00, you must buy a full version.


The customer needs to buy an update (FEC product numbers 80516 for one client, 80517 for 5 clients und 80518 für 10 clients).
