bintec WI Client Integrates Machines or Mobile Installations via WLAN
Funkwerk Enterprise Communications introduces their new WLAN Industrial Adapter. The bintec WI Client can be operated at temperatures up to 70 Celsius. It is therefore particularly suited to interconnect e.g. machines in industrial production via WLAN. The connection of mobile installations is also possible. Fork lift trucks, for instance, can easily and quickly be integrated into a WLAN. In combination with an access point of the bintec WI series, which sets up the LAN connection, data, such as logistics information, can be transferred directly to the corresponding systems in the corporate network and can be processed there. With the bintec WI Client, Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH extend their WLAN product range for industrial applications. [more...]

Funkwerk Enterprise Communications Recommends: Security Made Easy with Certificate-Based IPSec
If company sites are to be networked via Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Funkwerk Enterprise Communications (FEC) recommends to use IPsec connections with certificates. For the communication within the company, this ensures vital parameters such as confidentiality of the information transferred, authenticity of the communication partners, and integrity of the data, meaning that the data has not been tampered with. IPSec connections with certificates are safer to implement than the procedure with the so-called pre-shared keys, i.e. keys which are previously exchanged between the communications partners. Certificate-based IPSec is very frequently used for the networking of several company sites with VPNs (Virtual Private Networks). All bintec access devices of Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH, a company of Funkwerk AG, permit the setup of VPN-IPsec connections on the basis of certificates. [more...]

Fixed-Mobile Convergence with the High-speed Router from Funkwerk Enterprise Communications
UMTS Internet access with the bintec R1200wu high-speed router
Media transition from wireless to wired data traffic and vice versa is of increasing importance: Fixed-mobile convergence allows numerous new applications to be achieved that previously failed due to the costs of a purely wired solution. The UMTS router bintec R1200wu from Funkwerk Enterprise Communications (FEC) opens the way for media transition between UMTS and xDSL. Via a UMTS card, the router is capable of establishing a fast online connection therefore facilitating smooth data traffic even at remote locations without a DSL or ISDN connection. The UMTS connection can also be configured to back-up existing Internet access. Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH, developed the UMTS router in response to the enormous demand from customers and partners who deploy it in production, for example. The bintec R1200wu looks after all the regular routing functions in the network – so the UMTS interface benefits all network clients. [more...]
