Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC) present their new WLAN access point for the application in professional environments. The innovative technology applied by the bintec W1002n enables companies to achieve higher net turnovers and to improve the range of the system at the same time. The device is equipped with an integrated VPN router with a high security standard, which permits the simultaneous setup of up to 110 VPN tunnels. The access point is fully downward-compatible and permits the smooth migration into existing office infrastructures. The application of the bintec W1002n as a high-performance bridge link with the new dual polarization antenna permits the multiplication of the data rates in comparison to the technology applied previously.
Fast Data Exchange, High Transmission Capacity
The bintec W1002n supports the new WLAN technology according to IEEE 802.11n and offers a substantial increase of the throughput with data rates of up to 300 Mbps for internetworking (LAN-to-LAN coupling) in comparison with conventional WLAN bridges. In addition to the operation in the 2.4 and 5 GHz ranges, the device also supports the 5.8 frequency range for the first time. In the 5.8 GHz range, the operation with a transmission capacity of up to 4 watts (EiRP) is admissible. This enables Internet service providers to offer cost-effective Internet connections of locations without DSL. Moreover, the device accommodates additional layer-3 functions (firewall, NAT, VPN, etc.). Like its predecessor, the bintec W1002, the bintec W1002n is admitted for the application on the medical sector according to EN60601-1-2. The bintec W1002n is now available in specialized trade for a net price of Euro 369.
