With release 7.6.5, available as of now, Funkwerk Enterprise Communications (FEC) implements the all-out connection of its Unified Access Gateway bintec TR200 to the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. MS Outlook, known to many users as an e-mail program, thus, becomes the personal communications center of the employee in the company: bintec TR200 e.g. sends alerts for missed calls. Moreover, the Exchange Server works as a voice mailbox. While on the move, the user can have his or her e-mails read out or can query appointments, for instance via a mobile phone. The authorization is performed by entering a PIN number. With release 7.6.5, bintec TR200 supports up to 10 SIP extensions instead of 4, as before.
The so-called Auto-Attendant, moreover, is an automatic call answering system, which connects the caller with the right department or extension by means of voice control. In addition, Auto-Attendant supports direct inward dialing (DID) and offers an authentication service for dialed numbers, as well as automatic speech recognition (ASR). For all functions mentioned, it makes no difference whether the calling person initiates the call from an analog, ISDN or VoIP phone.
With bintec TR200, Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH, a company of Funkwerk AG, primarily supports users in small- and medium-scale enterprises who want to unify their IT and telecommunications infrastructure. With the device, the user obtains an ISDN PBX, a router for ISDN and DSL, a VoIP and VPN gateway, and an access point. Small-scale companies and subsidiaries with up to 8 employees can, thus, implement their office infrastructures for telephone, e-mail, and WLAN with a single device. This also applies to home offices. The integrated VPN client ensures the secure connection of the external workplaces to the head office. The integration into the Exchange Server further serves to homogenize the system.
The basis for the comprehensive integration and interconnection of features is the SIP communications protocol, which has been implemented in the bintec TR200 much more thoroughly than in other devices of its class.
