Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC), introduces a new product family with the S series: the switches complete the existing portfolio of network components. In a first step, FEC will introduce three different devices into the market. The S208 connects up to 8 network devices at high bandwidths and with minimum configuration effort. The other two devices of the S series, the S128p again for 8 network devices and the S1224p for up to 24 network devices, moreover support Power over Ethernet (PoE according to Standard IEEE 802.3af): they power up 4, respectively 12 end devices.
With the models S128p and S1224p, Funkwerk offers the option to feed both the PoE-capable Funkwerk end devices (phone IP-S290plus and IP-S400, as well as the access points of the Wx002 and WI series), as well as the devices of other vendors. In addition, both models offer all important layer 2 management features, such as VLAN (IEEE 802.1Q), Quality of Service (IEEE 802.1p), or Spanning Tree (IEEE 802.1w), which can be configured quickly and simply via the web GUI.
All three devices of the S series are now available from specialized dealers. The price for the S208 is € 99. The S128p costs € 299. The S1224p can be purchased for € 699. The prices are given as retail prices exclusive of V.A.T.
