Secure Data Transfer Made Vista-Capable
The IPSec Client of Funkwerk Enterprise Communications also Ensures Protected Data Exchange under Vista
Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC) presents the newest version of its IPSec Client. With version 2.01, the FEC Secure IPSec Client also supports computers running with the operating system Windows Vista (32-bit/64-bit). In combination with the integrated firewall and additional protective mechanisms, such as the rejection of premium rate call numbers, the FEC Secure IPSec Client permits the secure transfer of enterprise data from a laptop or home office into the corporate network.

The FEC Secure IPSec Client works with a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection. The VPN is a closed transmission tunnel over the Internet between the IPSec Client and a VPN gateway. This connection is protected via IPSec. The data sets protected in this way can neither be read nor modified over the Internet by unauthorized persons.

The FEC Secure IPSec Client permits the dial-in via different network types, such as LAN, WLAN, DSL, ISDN, GSM, GPRS, or UMTS. The auto-detection of hotspots enables external employees to log on to a publicly accessible WLAN in a fast and secure mode. The firewall integrated into the IPSec Client ensures that only those ports are opened which are required to set up the WLAN connection. The configuration of the FEC Secure IPSec Client is facilitated by means of the integrated configuration wizard. The graphical user interface provides the user with a fast and comprehensive overview of the existing VPN connection. The standard-compliant IPSec implementation ensures compatibility with the most diverse VPN gateway vendors.

Scope of performance of the FEC Secure IPSec Client:
•Dial-in via different media types (LAN, WLAN, xDSL, ISDN, GSM, GPRS, UMTS), as well as automated selection of the media type to be used
•Compatibility with VPN gateways of different vendors
•Support of Windows (32-bit) Vista, XP, 2000, and Windows Vista (64-bit)
