NUREMBERG. Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC), a Funkwerk AG company, has been successful in appointing Sönke Weisner as Senior Vice President for the newly established Business Development unit. In this position, the 43-year-old will develop new business areas for FEC and advance the integration of its new activities. Weisner has over 15 years of industry experience in various fields of the IT and telecommunications market. From these positions, he has gained diverse experience in management, sales and marketing, services, project management, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Alongside his role at FEC, he takes over managerial positions at the subsidiaries Funkwerk IAD GmbH, Funkwerk Aphona Communications GmbH and the newly formed Funkwerk IP-Appliances GmbH.
At Funkwerk IAD GmbH, Weisner takes over the post of Managing Director “Sales und Marketing“. As a further Managing Director besides Dr. Volker Wilkening, Weisner will assume responsibility for the sales of Integrated Access Devices (IADs) to national and international carriers. He will head Funkwerk IP-Appliances GmbH, together with Michael Marsanu, who is also responsible for Sales and Marketing. Weisner is also appointed as Managing Director of Funkwerk Aphona Communications in Vienna. In this capacity, he will support the FEC business activities in Eastern Europe and the CIS countries. “My goal is to swiftly integrate the new business units into FEC and to tap new business potential. With my previous experience, I can confident of making a rapid contribution to the success of Funkwerk Enterprise Communications. I look forward to becoming active in these new markets with such a dynamic company”, says Sönke Weisner.
Prior to his switch to FEC, Weisner was Commercial Director at Alcatel Integration Services GmbH where he was responsible for sales and sales support. He was previously Vice President Sales and Marketing at DeTeWe AG & Co. KG. responsible for shaping internationalisation strategy. Previous to this, he held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Ascom Enterprise Communications AG. Sönke Weisner started his career in 1990 at Hagenuk Multicom GmbH.
