Multifunction system with High speed Plug & Play Internet access over USB, and expansion options to additionally enable operation on analogue connections
NUREMBERG. Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH, a subsidiary of Funkwerk AG, is presenting together with the new compact PABX system the successor to the D@VOS-24.net. The device combines the varied and convenient functions of compact PABX systems with the latest expansion capabilities, in a single attractive unit. In the standard configuration, the elmeg T240 has one ISDN exchange connection and four internal extensions for connecting analogue terminal devices. A module slot allows the unit to be optionally expanded with 2 a/b ports or with a POTS module for connecting an analogue exchange line.
The elmeg T240 multifunction system is easy to operate and has much to offer users in the private and SoHo area in addition to the rapid Internet access (up to 128 Kbit/s) over USB: the comprehensive software package included with the system, the TAPI-based CTI software and web-based Least Cost Routing make the elmeg T240 a powerful and versatile communications tool. The five LEDs on the cover are an eye-catcher, displaying information including the status of the PABX system and the USB interface, and of the exchange channels.
The CTI application estos ProCall included provides for contemporary telephony convenience. An integrated Least-Cost-Routing automatically selects for each call the cheapest rate available from the carriers configured, and additionally supports the use of gateways. To maintain control of telephone costs, a charge limit (pocket money account) can be set up for each terminal device. There is storage capacity for 500 charge data records, which can be individually assigned using project numbers.
To ensure that a professional appearance is presented to the outside world, individual and team functions and team calls are possible using an extension number and incoming calls can be deflected without answering (Call Deflection) The caller ID function (CLIP) is supported on all analogue ports. Anyone who forgets to activate call forwarding before leaving his or her desk can invoke the follow-me function remotely. Day/night mode switching can be configured by date and time, and can be carried out under central control.
The elmeg T240 is expected to be available from specialist dealers in June 2005.
