Funkwerk Enterprise Communications presents IPSec Image for the bintec X2301 and bintec X2302 routers
High-end security for the entry-level
NUREMBERG. Effective immediately, Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH, a Funkwerk AG company, offers IPSec functionality for its entry-level bintec X2301 and bintec X2302 routers. With the new firmware, the ADSL routers now support up to two active IPSec tunnels at the same time, with the option of configuring more. IPSec functionality enables the secure use of pre-shared keys and certificates. IPSec Image is now available for downloading free of charge at www.funkwerk-ec.com. And this software can also be used to upgrade those routers that are already integrated into an existing infrastructure.

Secure data transmission
The bintec X2301 and the bintec X2302Als both support the following encryption standards: Twofish, Blowfish, Cast 3DES and AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) for symmetrical and RSA as well as DAS for asymmetrical encryption. The integrated stateful inspection firewall and the optionally available content filtering functionality significantly increase security for data transmission, enabling enterprises to prove their adherence to the highest security criteria on the basis of the Basel 2 regulations for an audit by a financial institution.

The Funkwerk Enterprise Communications IPSec implementation is specially designed to offer a high-quality, cryptology-based security architecture for Ipv4 data packets. And what’s more, the IPSec implementation can also be integrated seamlessly into a pubic key environment (PKI). IPSec consists of a number of Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standards that specify the mechanisms to protect and authenticate IP packets. IPSec also offers mechanisms to encrypt and decrypt the data transmitted in the IP packets.
