Mobile access point sports wide variety of functions
NUREMBERG. Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH, a Funkwerk AG company, will present the palm-sized artem W100 access point at this year’s CeBIT show. This product is a mobile access point and an Ethernet adapter all in one. The artem W100 is easy to install and, thanks to its tiny dimensions (92x71x31 mm) and light weight of just 100 grams, it is an ideal travel companion for business people on the go. This new technology makes it quick and easy to set up a hotspot just about anywhere to allow authorized users to log onto the Internet. The artem W100 is scheduled to go on sale in the second quarter of this year.
Supporting the IEEE 802.11g WLAN standard and a data transmission rate of up to 54 Mbps, the artem W100 offers all the features necessary to allow wireless access to the Internet. Equipped with a 6 dBi high-powered antenna, which provides high signal strength and a fast data rate, the access point allows double the WLAN coverage of comparable products.
The artem W100 also provides the necessary security with the integrated 64-bit or 128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) encryption and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) functionality. Windows software makes configuring the system a breeze and depending on the operating system, the artem W100 can also be configured using the web interface.
The package includes a CD containing configuration software, a USB cable for the power supply via the PC, an Ethernet cable and a power supply unit.
