Funktel will present hardware solutions for mobile security at hazardous workplaces and in the business environment at the joint show display
NUREMBERG. The Funkwerk Enterprise Communication Division, which belongs to Funkwerk AG, will appear at this year’s CeBIT show from March 10 to 16, 2005 in a completely new uniform brand look. In Hall 13, at Booth D54, the subsidiary of Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC) will present product innovations under the artem, bintec and Elmeg brands as well as the first convergence solution developed as a joint project: the new Voice over VPN solution is based on an elmeg telecom system with Voice over IP and the bintec VPN software.
Funktel GmbH will feature DECT-Secury and GSM emergency call systems and special devices in Ex-approved versions.
VoIP extension for Elmeg ICT and compact telecom systems
Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH has extended the range of functions for the elmeg ICT telecom system by adding a scalable gateway module to provide Voice over IP as well as VPN functionality. This enables companies to use existing data lines for transmitting voice as well. In addition, FEC will present the new compact elmeg T444 telecom system as the successor to the D@VOS line, which also supports Voice over IP and is ideal for use at such smaller locations as branch offices. The elmeg IP-290 IP standard telephone, which will be expanded by the addition of the elmeg IP-S290 and IP-S400 IP system telephones in the third quarter, will also be on display. VoIP client and carrier solutions are also part of the program.
VoIP routers with WLAN and a future-proof hardware platform
FEC will showcase three new routers at the show this year: the bintec R2302w, the bintec R3400 and the bintec R3800. These routers offer not only ADSL2+ with up to 24 MBps, they also include SHDSL with up to 9.2 Mbps. During the course of the year, the Voice over IP standard will be added to the routers’ functionalities and combined with the Elmeg telecom products to create innovative voice-data solutions. In addition, the bintec R2302w supports the 802.11g WLAN standard. The bintec R2302w, the bintec R3400 und the bintec R3800 routers are based on a new, future-proof hardware platform. This platform exhibits high flexibility in the combination of interfaces, functionality and protocols available. Thus, individual customer requirements can also be accommodated in small quantities. These solutions will be complemented by further products: the bintec X2301/X2302 entry-level products, for example, will also be available in a WLAN version.
WLAN: New wireless standards
FEC also plans to exhibit new access points. The artem W100, the artem W200 and the artem W300 products support the 802.11b and the 802.11g as well as the 802.11a/h standards. Thanks to the Multi-SSID function, these products allow the simultaneous use of different wireless standards to act as access points and bridges at the same time, for example. The product portfolio will also be rounded out in the bottom of the business segment to include the entry-level artem ComPoint Butterfly, which was specially designed for small installations that do not want to do without professional security.
Funktel
The array of products available from Funktel ranges from the easy-to-operate GSM emergency-call mobile phone known as “easy” for private use right on up to mobile professional security systems that use cell and vicinity locating technology. Funktel is expanding its portfolio by adding the Secury segment to public mobile communications networks. As a full-range service provider of systems for personal security for companies and institutions, even in difficult wireless environments, and a competent partner for ATEX-based explosion protection, Funktel delivers wireless, GSM and DECT systems in an Ex-approved version. Special features include the Ex dust certificates and Ex-approved operation with a headset.
