Thomas von Baross leaves Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH
NUREMBERG. Thomas von Baross (41), Managing Director and Chief Sales Officer at Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH, will leave the company, effective 31st December 2004, to take on new career challenges.
During the course of the merger of Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH with sister company Elmeg Communication Systems GmbH, his sales and marketing tasks in Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be taken over by Wolfgang Harderich, the current Managing Director of Elmeg, starting on
1st January 2005. From the beginning of 2005, Franco Dradi, currently Country Manager of Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH in Italy, will be responsible for sales and marketing in France, Italy and Spain. Both will report directly to Hans-Ekkehard Domröse, Chief Executive Officer of Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH.

Thomas von Baross was responsible for sales and marketing as well as PR in Europe at Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH from October 2004. Prior to this, von Baross was managing director and head of sales and marketing at bintec Access Networks GmbH from February 2003 and was also in charge of sales and marketing activities for artem, the wireless LAN specialists, from June 2004.

Effective 1st October 2004, artem and bintec merged to become Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH. “I think it’s a good time for a change. The first major phase of integration has been completed successfully and the course has been set for the next phase,” said Thomas von Baross. “During the past two-and-a-half years, we have succeeded in getting bintec back on track and moving towards a promising future under the same roof at Funkwerk AG as the sister companies of artem, Elmeg and Funktel.”

Von Baross first came to bintec as the overall head of sales – national (D/A/CH) and international (all of Europe) – in September 2002. Prior to that, he had gathered a wide range of experience in a number of well-known companies in the IT industry; some of the companies he was employed at include Hutchison Telecom, Broadnet, and Tiscali.
