With immediate effect, Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC), offers a voluminous firmware release for the telecommunications systems of the elmeg ICT series, as well as for the VoIP/VPN gateway. With the continuous development of the ICT systems, FEC strengthens its position on the sectors Voice over IP (VoIP) and Voice over Virtual Private Network (VPN) and emphasizes the investment protection which is ensured by the application of elmeg telecommunications systems.
The firmware extension of the systems supports further SIP providers as providers of VoIP services. Moreover, the release increases the currently available 5 VPN connections to 10. The extended status and diagnosis options display the phone sets logged on to the PBX at one glance to the user, as well as the registered SIP providers. In addition to the automated codec selection for VoIP connections, the new release also supports individual presettings (codec preselection). Particularly for the application of IP systems phones in home offices with limited bandwidths, this leads to noticeable improvements. A novelty of this feature release is the TAPI support for IP systems phones, which can now also dial directly from PC applications.
Voluminous extensions for the connection of analog leased lines (FXO) were specially implemented for international sales areas.
Moreover, this release enables the ICT systems to support the call-through dial-in into the telecommunications system and the call through by using internal settings and the connected leased lines. Up to 10 different call numbers can be configured for call through. The authorization to use these features is checked via PIN input and the identification of the incoming, transferred call number. This option is ideal for field service staff and offers the user cost savings by the utilization of favorable tariffs of the ICT leased lines.
The software release 7.3 extends all elmeg ICT systems and the VoIP/VPN gateway for the upgrade of the ICT series to VoIP.
Registered specialized dealers can download the release, as well as additional WIN tools free of cost from the FEC home page under http://www.funkwerk-ec.com.
