CeBIT 2007: Network Access Always and Everywhere with Funkwerk Enterprise Communications
New router model bintec R1200wu with UMTS slot
Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC), will present the bintec R1200wu with UMTS at the CeBIT 2007. Via a UMTS card, the router sets up a wireless online connection. Funkwerk Enterprise Communications has developed the wireless LAN-capable router for application scenarios, where it does not pay off or is not possible to install cables, or where the trunks are too long for WLAN
and the user cannot do without an Internet connection, nevertheless. The user can also apply the UTMS connection as a backup line for his cable-bound DSL, providing better failure safety for business-critical online connections.

In bintec R1200wu, Funkwerk Enterprise Communications combines the core technologies Ethernet, ISDN, and WLAN with UMTS/HSDPA. The router is, thus, provided with all interfaces and functions required for the application in demanding and professional solution scenarios. The implemented SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) proxy permits the operation of IP telephones in a network and registration with the Voice-over-IP (VoIP) provider. For the use as a VoIP media gateway, the router also accommodates a slot for a digital signal processor (DSP). This solution permits VoIP phone calls also via the ISDN interface on up to four channels with high compression voice codecs.

As a wireless router, bintec R1200wu supports the Standards 802.11a/b/g/h with a gross data rate of 54 Mbps. As a specialist for secure network solutions, FEC equips the multi-protocol router 1200wu with the WLAN security functions with WPA/WPA2 Standard. Moreover, the device permits the secure connection of external sites via VPN (Virtual Private Network). Ex-factory, the router is already provided with ten IPSec tunnels, including hardware acceleration of the encryption.

Key features of bintec R1200wu
•WLAN 802.11a/b/g/h (bintec R1200w)
