NUREMBERG. Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC), a Funkwerk AG company, presents the artem W100, an Ethernet client adapter and travel access point integrated into a single, palm-sized unit weighing just 100 grams. Supporting the IEEE 802.11g WLAN standard and data transmission rates of up to 54 Mbps, the artem W100 supports high-performance connections for PCs without a WLAN interface, and provides for the speedy installation of hotspots for dialling into the Web.
The versatile artem W100 is the perfect companion for business clients who do not wish to forego wireless access to the Internet when on the move.
In contrast to standard client cards, the artem W100’s 6dBi high-gain antenna provides double the coverage of conventional client cards and, with the addition of a second artem W100 card, users can establish line-of-sight connections of up to 120m at 54 Mbit/s.
Using the window mount included, the artem W100 can also establish simple outside connections, thereby saving an external antenna.
The mobile access point supports today’s highest security standards and includes integrated 64-bit and 128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) encryption and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) functionality for secure data transmission.
Weighing just 100 grams and with dimensions of 92 x 71 x 31 mm, the artem W100 is the ideal travel companion, allowing hotspots to be installed quickly and flexibly. A prominent feature of the artem W100 is its nippy, user-friendly handling. While Windows software makes configuring the system a breeze, users of other operating systems can also configure the artem W100 via the web interface.
