San Mateo/Nuremberg, 20.04.2005 – AirWave Wireless Inc., a leading wireless network management software provider, and Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH (FEC) today announced a sales and technology-based partnership agreement. FEC is a leading European manufacturer of professional network access and ITC solutions for enterprises, public authorities, organizations and carriers. The AirWave Management Platform provides configuration, monitoring, and security policy enforcement for FEC’s “artem” brand of access points. Under the partnership agreement, AirWave training courses and technical support are available to FEC for partners and resellers. FEC is targeting its artem access points and AMP to commercial and industrial companies, hospitals, and universities with upwards of 50 access points.
“There are two reasons why we decided to partner with AirWave Wireless: the features of the AMP solution, and a growing demand for complete solutions to manage wireless networks,” said Rolf Leukel, WLAN Product Marketing Manager at FEC. “Companies and other organizations with large, distributed wireless networks need a complete management solution that uses a centralized console for remote network maintenance and monitoring, to detect unauthorized rogue access points, and to support complementary solutions from other vendors. The combination of artem access points and AMP offers customers a secure and robust infrastructure for enterprise-grade WiFi networks.”
The AMP solution enables customers to monitor and configure their wireless networks worldwide using an intuitive, web-based user interface. The AirWave Management Platform is a flexible, vendor-agnostic solution that supports hardware from FEC as well as other leading vendors. To underpin WiFi network security, AMP helps organizations centrally define and strictly enforce their security policies and eliminate unauthorized access points on the network.
“FEC, with its brands artem, bintec and elmeg, is one of the leading wireless networking players in Germany and in Europe. The products and the support are first class. That’s why we’re using this partnership to achieve a faster market penetration for our AMP solution. Universities, hospitals, and companies with a large number of production sites or a dense network of subsidiaries will definitely benefit from our joint offer,” said Greg Murphy, AirWave’s COO.
