1. Vorbemerkungen

Vorausgesetzt wird ein betriebsfähiger Router X8500, VPN Access 250 oder VPN Access 1000 mit interner Smart Media Flashcard (SMFC).
Das aktuelle "Bintec Large Update" (derzeit BLUP 7.1.1) muß erfolgreich ausgeführt worden sein.
Eine externe Flashcard muß ordungsgemäß und ohne Schreibschutzaufkleber gesteckt sein.
Auf der Flashcard sind Dateinamen im "8.3" DOS-Format anzugeben.
Für einige Kommandos muß ein TFTP-Server für den Router erreichbar sein.
Weitere Hinweise zum Konfigurationsmanagement sind im "Software Configuration Guide X8500 Family" zu finden.

5. Booten von der externen Flashcard

Hinweise:

Beim Bootvorgang kann von der externen Flashcard nur das Bootimage eingelesen werden.
Die Bootkonfiguration wird von der internen Smart Media Flashcard bzw. dem internen Flashspeicher geladen.
Für Softwarelizenzen innerhalb der Bootkonfiguration ist die Seriennummer der internen Smart Media Flashcard maßgeblich.

5.1 Setzen des Bootflags beim Bootimage der externen Flashcard

5.2 Auswahl der externen Flashcard beim Bootvorgang

An der seriellen Konsole kann im Bootmonitor das Bootimage von der externen Flashcard geladen werden:
