1. Vorbemerkungen

Die gewünschte Software muß auf einem TFTP-Server für den Router erreichbar sein.
Für das Update des Bootimages (BOSS) wird eine geeignet formatierte Smart Media Flashcard (SMFC) vorausgesetzt. Auf der Flashcard darf kein Schreibschutzaufkleber angebracht sein.
Weitergehende Beschreibungen zu Updates sind zu finden in "Software Configuration Guide X8500 Family", "Anleitung für bintec Large Update" und "Release Notes 6.2.5".

2.1 Anzeige der Versionen von Systemlogic, Bootmonitor und Bootimage (BOSS):

3. Bintec Large Update (BLUP) für Logiken und Bootmonitor (nur X8500)

Mit dem Bintec Large Update (BLUP) wird neue Software für Systemlogic, Bootmonitor und Modullogiken in den internen Flashbaustein (EEPROM) des Systemboards übertragen.

Beispiel für den Start des "BLUP" im Bootmonitor:

4. Update des Betriebssystems (Bootimage)

Mit dem Bootimage Update wird ein neues Betriebssystem (BOSS) auf die interne Flashcard übertragen und mit dem Attribut "boot" versehen.

Beispiel für ein Update des Bootimages auf der "fssh-Shell":

5. Modem Update (nur X8500)

Mit dem Modem Update wird eine neue Modem Firmware direkt in den internen Speicher der Modemkarte übertragen.

Beispiel für ein Update der Modem Firmware auf der SNMP-Shell:
