The complete industrial processing and logistics chain offers many options of application for WLAN systems, which increase efficiency and productivity and lead to a higher flexibility. The signal transfer from and to fabrication robots via WLAN connections permits flexible process control, which can be performed by the central office and/or mobile terminals of the staff on site.

Especially in industrial environments, however, heat and cold, dust, dirt, or vibrations often affect the functioning of the WLAN infrastructure, thus causing outages and increasing costs.

With the bintec WI series access points designed especially for industrial application and a broad antenna portfolio, Funkwerk offers the solution ensuring a comprehensive and trouble-free application in nearly all situations.

The access points are available in the protection classes IP40 (protection against foreign particles larger than 1 mm) and IP65 (no intrusion of dust and protection against water jet impact). They can be supplied with power using a power supply unit or via PoE directly from the LAN interface. The devices support roaming, which means that the user can move from one radio cell to another without interrupting the data stream. The industrial access points are equipped with an SFP slot for additional fiber interfaces, ensuring that data transmission is not affected by magnetic fields caused by high-voltage current.
