TR200 – Home Workstations with Voice and Data Connection

For reasons of cost and time, the use of home and remote workplaces is becoming increasingly attractive for companies and employees alike. Employees connected in this way can be deployed more effectively, especially in the part-time domain. Here it is important that the employee can access the company's data resources, as well as being integrated in the company's telephony infrastructure.

In addition, there should also be the option of separately dialing-in to the local telephone network. In order to protect sensitive corporate data, but also to make phone conversations more tap-proof, it is important to protect the data and telephony traffic conducted via the unprotected medium of the Internet if this exists for bandwidth and cost reasons.

The connection in the home office is through the multifunction gateway TR200. PSTN telephony with many features via the classical local ISDN network is therefore just as feasible as VoIP telephony via SIP providers or to the central office via an encrypted VPN tunnel. Standard ISDN or analog phones can, of course, also be used on the multifunction gateway TR200 besides elmeg VoIP phones. ADSL2+, Ethernet switching and WLAN connect the home workplace with the Internet.

The TR200 gateway logs on to central office as a subsidiary on an RT series media gateway. RTxx02 itself is connected as an internal subscriber to the existing PBX with the ISDN connections. Incoming calls to the classical PBX are not only signalled to the internal phone, but also to the phone in the home office via the media gateway and TR200. Both phones are obtainable under the regular direct number. At the same time, data can be transmitted through the media gateway via secure VPN connections.
